A really nice day is ahead for Saturday with temperatures in the mid 60s and partly sunny skies. Enjoy the day – because changes are ahead for Sunday.
Overnight Saturday into Sunday, the winds will pick up a bit and we’ll see a chance for a shower or two. We’ll start off Sunday with temperatures in the mid 50s. With a stout south to southwest wind, temperatures will rise quickly into the upper 60s by midday, getting close to the low 70s in the afternoon. A shower or two is possible in the morning, but overall rain chances increase throughout the day.
A line of showers and storms look to approach late in the evening and early overnight. This will bring heavy rain, some lightning/thunder and even the threat of a strong to severe storm. Main concern is gusty winds, but if we see any sun break out during the day Sunday, that could increase the instability or t-storm fuel leading to a risk of an isolated tornado. Make sure you have our WAVY Weather App to stay updated.
Winds will be gusty Sunday with some gusts of 30-45 possible, even outside of the storms. Make sure you tie down the Christmas decorations. Heavy rain is also expected with 1″-2.5″ totals, so if you have lights outside make sure they’re protected from the water.
The front will drop to our south on Monday, with any shower activity wrapping up. High temps Monday afternoon will only be in the upper 40s to near 50. We’ll be cool and dry for the first half of next week, with temperatures in the 50s.
