Watching for Severe Storms Tonight

Weather
RADAR VIEW AS OF THE 6PM HOUR

Storms are racing towards the Tidewater from the NW.  These storms developed across the Ohio River Valley near a stalled frontal boundary.  However, the atmospheric flow pattern is guiding this storm complex towards Hampton Roads.

Our Future Trak forecast model is estimating storms rolling into Hampton Roads after 9PM…with the peak of the activity between 10PM and 12AM.  The rain moves out by 1AM or so.   Regardless, have your weather guard up tonight.

There is a SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH in place for Hampton Roads until 1AM, and the higher risk will be damaging wind.  This storm complex that’s marching in has a history of producing winds strong enough to down some trees and there could be some power outages. Have a way of getting severe weather alerts tonight.  FYI… If you download our WAVY Weather APP, it’s free!
