A cold front will cross the area this afternoon, and it’ll bring scattered showers to the area. Conditions are also favorable for some storms to form as the heat of the day will help increase atmospheric instability.
So, expect isolated showers through Mid-Morning with scattered showers by Midday. These showers will continue through around 3PM for Hampton Roads…and until around 5pm for NE NC.
After that time, conditions improve. It’ll be a breezy day with sustained winds of 15-25mph gusting up to 30mph.
Behind the front, the winds will shift to the NW…and that’ll usher in some much colder air. Lows tonight will bottom out in the upper 30s for many areas. So, get ready for a chilly kick-off to your Thursday.
Don’t worry, the colder weather won’t last too long. Temps climb back in the 70s by Friday. Have a way of getting severe weather alerts this afternoon, and watch WAVY NEWS 10 throughout the day for the latest on our potential for threatening weather.
