Scattered Showers and Storms this Weekend, but Not a Wash-Out

Weather
A Radar View from This Morning

This morning, a cold front is moving across our area. It sparked showers & storms earlier today, but many areas are getting a break from the rain. This same front will trigger more showers and storms this afternoon, but it’ll be scattered (so not everyone will experience the rain)…

…and a few showers will linger into the evening. Downpours can be expected if rain finds you.

The front will stall out across North Carolina for Sunday, and it’ll serve as a trigger for more rain across our area.

The best coverage of rain will be closer to the front for mainly NE NC, but the Southside will also have a few showers/storms to deal with…especially Sunday afternoon.

So far this month, Norfolk has received nearly 7″ of rain…

…with a surplus of more than 2″ (and a surplus of more than 6″ for the year).

An additional .5″ to 1″ is possible for the Southside through Sunday afternoon …with the potential for up to 2″ for parts of NE NC.  Highs today will hover around the Mid-upper 80s…which will be near average.
