Many of us are tired of “hugs” from Old Man Winter…which are those brief cold spells mixed in with pockets of warmer weather. However, colder air sneaks back into the forecast soon; so, the roller coaster continues.
We can blame a cold front for that. It’ll move into our area today…crossing later tonight. Ahead of it, expect near record breaking temps again (similar to what we experienced yesterday).
Today, we have a slightly better chance for matching or breaking the current record since the forecast high is different by only a degree. We’ll see what happens. Regardless, once the front crosses tonight, temps will gradually fall on Monday. It’ll be warmest on Monday morning (right after Midnight) with temps near 60°
…with temps down into the low 50s by the afternoon.
Then, 30s are possible by the time we start our Tuesday. So, from near 80° to upper 30s within 36 hours.
Also, with the front moving in today, expect some showers. Best timing will be after 1PM today, but not a wash-out. Just have the umbrella handy for afternoon & evening plans.
Rain is more likely for Monday morning as the front stalls across NC…keeping rain in our area. Drier weather is expected by the afternoon.
High pressure takes over by Tuesday…leading to sunshine. Then, 60s & 70s return by Wednesday & Thursday ahead of another cold front. For now, Thursday is looking pretty soggy…stay tuned.
