An Upper level ridge of High Pressure will plant itself across the SE & Mid-Atlantic states between now and next Tuesday. This means a big warm up for our area, but the humidity will also increase…and DANGEROUS heat index values can be expected.
For Father’s Day, heat indices will hover around the Mid 90s. Then, Heat indices will climb into the range from 100° – 105° on Monday & Tuesday. This type of heat can make you sick, and you really need to be careful if you work outside or have any strenuous activities planned for those days. Remember to stay hydrated, keep pets inside, and check in on the elderly to make sure they have proper working A/C.
At least today will be nice as a surface ridge of high pressure sits on top of our area. It’ll be a little muggier, but highs will hover around the Mid 80s (near average).
As mentioned, Father’s Day will begin the big warm up. However, a few showers are possible by the afternoon.
The rain coverage won’t be widespread, but carry the umbrella for your afternoon & evening Father’s Day Plans so that you don’t get caught offguard. To all of the fathers, have a wonderful day tomorrow, and enjoy the weekend!
