We have some very warm air moving into the region today. However, the water temperatures are still quite chilly.
Today we will have high pressure sliding offshore. This is allowing for southwest winds to develop.
There is also an area of low pressure over the Great Lakes, and that will also act to pick up the breeze. There may some gusts between 25 and 30mph as we head into the afternoon. It will be very dry with dew points in the upper 30s to low 40s. There were some clouds around this morning, but we’ll go to mostly sunny skies by around midday. We’ll warm to the mid 70s later today. Keep in mind that locations near the shore will be cooler due to the cooler water temperatures. Right now those temps are in the 40s and 50s.
So don’t expect to go to the beach and jump in the water. It’s just too cold! Water temps will slowly warm over the next couple of days.
Tomorrow we’ll have even warmer air in the region. High temps will reach to near 80 with mostly sunny skies. We’ll be near 80 again on Saturday with partly cloudy skies. By Sunday we’ll be in the upper 70s. However, there will be more clouds and a few late day showers. I’m still expecting the bulk of the rain to move in Sunday night into Monday morning. That will be along the cold front. We’ll cool down to the 60s on Monday. Then highs will be in the upper 50s on Tuesday, but we’ll warm up again later in the week. Pollen levels are pretty high today. I’d put the level at a 9 out of 10 by the end of the day. It’s all over the cars…It’s that time of year. Dogh!
