A Tornado Watch has been issued for Hampton Roads until 7 AM. The main risks in the morning will be for damaging wind gusts, but an isolated tornado is also possible. The timing of the storms is between 3 AM and 5 AM Monday morning. Here is the latest update:
The storms should move through the region fast enough so we won’t see a big risk for flooding, but there could be some temporary ponding in low spots. We should get around 0.5″ of rain tonight. Now Monday, it looks likely that the rain will move out by 7 am, then we will see a sunny and windy day. Wind gusts may exceed 30 mph tomorrow!
For the rest of the week ahead, conditions are looking quiet with sunny skies Tuesday through Thursday. We could see some rain on Friday and Saturday. Easter Sunday looks dry with highs in the 60s.
