The cold air will certainly be making an entrance into the region Sunday afternoon. It will be a brutal shock to the system! But let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves.
Saturday will be a mild day with highs in the low 50s and a mostly cloudy sky, overall not too bad! The low pressure system that’s marching across the nation will be bringing a steady rainfall through late Saturday night and early Sunday morning.
We could see a few stray showers this afternoon before the bulk of the system arrives. Here’s FutureTrak at 4PM:
The rest of the rain will move through after midnight and continue into Sunday morning. If you’re headed out early on, you’ll notice it will feel very warm! But it won’t last for long. The rain will come to an end after lunch time and we’ll start to dry out.
The big story is going to be the BIG chill. It’s going to be brutal! We’ll start Sunday off in the 60s and through Sunday night the lows will drop into the 20s. BRRR! Not only is it going to be that cold, the wind is going to make it feel even worse. Take a look at these wind chill values Monday morning. Single digits!
Highs on Monday will top off near 30 degrees and we’ll have a dry sky. More mild weather returns through the rest of the work week!
Stay warm! -Meteorologist Casey Lehecka
