BLOG: Soggy and Muggy

RAIN CHANCES_METEOGRAM_1532688429383.png.jpg

As if 2″ to 10″ of rain wasn’t enough earlier this week, we have more showers and storms in the forecast today….actually we have a chance of showers and storms in the forecast every single day for the next seven days.  Happy Friday folks!

We are starting this Friday with warm and muggy conditions, which will only give way to a hot and humid afternoon.  Temperatures will top out in the low-90s, but it’ll feel close to 100° with the high humidity.  Most of the day will be dry with a mix of sun and clouds, but there will be a chance of pop-up showers and storms this afternoon.

Some isolated storms may be strong to severe, especially on the northern fringe of our viewing area.

Towards Surry Co, James City Co, Williamsburg, Gloucester Co, and Mathews Co, that’s where some storms may produce heavy downpours, gusty winds, and small hail.

Passing showers and storms will remain in the forecast overnight.  Some lingering showers are possible across northeast North Carolina tomorrow morning.  We’ll see partly sunny skies through Saturday morning, but then another round of thundershowers will develop through the afternoon/evening hours as a cold front swoops in.  That front will stall out across the region from Saturday night through Sunday, so that will keep scattered showers in the forecast as we close out the weekend.  Sunday will be a little cooler with highs in the mid-80s, but with the humidity, you won’t notice much (if any) relief.

Temperatures will be seasonable through much of next week, but dewpoints will be consistently in the 70s, so it won’t feel comfortable at any point.

Showers everyday….and high humidity?  Fun times….*rolls eyes*.
