The gloomy weather is long gone and we’ll have a very similar day compared to what we saw yesterday! Plenty of sunshine out there with a few clouds mixing in, high temps will be topping off in the upper 40s. A little bit warmer than yesterday and that will be the trend- a little bit warmer each day as we head into the weekend! Friday and Saturday we’ll top off in the 60s and we haven’t seen those numbers for awhile.
High pressure is to thank for this calm and quiet weather pattern. The wind will become westerly which will let the bitterly cold air move back to the north and we’ll become much more mild. Today, Thursday and the majority of Friday will stay dry before the pattern starts to change.
Later into the afternoon and evening on Friday, low pressure sweeps across the region and this will bring some unsettled weather to kick off the weekend. We’ll be dealing with some heavy rainfall through Friday night and into the day on Saturday. Saturday looks to be a very soggy day so keep that in mind if you have any weekend plans! Since the ground is saturated from last weekends rainfall, this could bring the potential for minor flooding in flood prone areas. We’ll keep our eyes on it the next couple of days!
Enjoy the sunshine! -Meteorologist Casey Lehecka
