We have some great weather expected for today. A big area of high pressure is building into the region. It will provide full sunshine for today. We’ve lost the northwest breeze. So we will warm up to the upper 70s in Hampton Roads this afternoon. The wind will be variable at 5-10mph. For a time the wind will be onshore. This will make for cooler temps (low-mid 70s) near the shore with some 80s inland.
Water temps are still cool, but they are starting to rise a bit.
Tomorrow the area of high pressure will move offshore. This will let the winds turn to out of the southwest. So the area will heat up even more. High temps will be in the mid 80s with upper 80s inland.
Looks like they’ll even warm to the 80s in Boston!
Locally, we’ll stay warm and dry from tomorrow into Friday. On Saturday we may see some isolated showers, but it will still be warm. Highs in the 80s. We’ll cool down on Sunday to the 70s with a better chance for rain.
Over the last few years many people in the public have been doing their own forecasts using social media to broadcast them to the public. While they have the right to do that, there are some cases where this has caused panic. Well…in Egypt they are beginning to take action against fake forecasts. Check it out. Egypt acts against unauthorized forecasts. I don’t think we need to go that far in the U.S. but it would be nice to have more certified forecasts.
