We are looking at a nice start to the work week today. High pressure is just off to our northeast. It is slowly sliding away though. We’ll have increasing clouds as we go into the afternoon, but the high should block any rain.
We’ll have some pm clouds with highs in the upper 60s. With the easterly breeze we’ll be cooler near the shore with highs in the low-mid 60s there. We’ll be in the 70s inland. The low pressure area to the southwest will move in by tomorrow. We’ll have rain increasing through the day. It will be widespread by the afternoon.
The rain could be heavy at times. We could even see a few isolated thunderstorms. High temps will be in the 60s. Some of the rain showers will linger into Wednesday as the low slowly creeps away from our area. We’ll see a mix of sun and clouds on Wednesday with a 40% chance for rain. High temps will be in the 70s. So that will be nice. We’ll be dry and mild on Thursday. Highs will be in the 60s. Then rain will return on Friday with another system.
Our area needs some rain. The climate site at Norfolk is down about three quarters of an inch for the month. We are down 1.79″ inches below average for the year. The forecast is calling for about 1-2″ of rain between Tuesday morning and Wednesday evening.
