Sometimes in Hampton Roads we tend to skip a season. Usually it’s either Fall or Spring. While it’s too early to say that we’ve completely skipped a season, we’ve definitely gone from Wintery weather to Summery weather within the last 48 hours. This morning we started with temps in the 50s and 60s. It was nice to head off to work and not have to bundle up so much. We have a warm front slowly moving north of the region today. High pressure is just to our southeast. We’ll have a nice southwest breeze picking up. Gusts could be to 25mph.
The humidity is rising, but the breeze should counteract that today. The wind will likely stop any sea breezes from happening. So it will be cooler right on the shore, and on the Eastern Shore. But high temps will be in the low 80s. The tree pollen levels will be high. Mold spores may be up a bit as well. What else is up? The waves are up again over the ocean too. Just keep in mind that water temps are in the 40s and 50s still. Keep that in mind too if you are going to try to paddle board or kayak on the local waterways.
By tomorrow we’ll have scattered showers and a few thunderstorms.
This as a cold front moves in from the west. It will be a slow front. So high temps will still make it to the mid 70s. We’ll cool down to the upper 50s to low 60s for the weekend. Overall, it still looks dry, but we might see a stray shower late Sunday afternoon or evening. We’ll cool to the low 50s on Monday with a few showers. Then we’ll warm up on Tuesday to near 70. Yep! More bouncing temperatures. Temps are forecast to drop quiet a bit later in the week. At least for a couple of days. Stay tuned for updates!
