The weekend has been off to a gloomy start, overnight downpours led to ponding on the roads and with more rain still to come, we could be dealing with flooding in low lying areas. Everyone with the exception of the Eastern Shore is under a Flood Watch until 6PM.
The fog is lifting now and the main problem today is going to be the rainfall. The moisture continues to pull in from the south and we’ll be dealing with steady rain throughout the day. Total from this system I expect around 1-2″ and after the rain we saw last weekend, the ground is already saturated which allows for flooding to happen even quicker. Streams, creeks and rivers will rise as well as any flood prone areas will be filling up with water.
If there is any good news with this weekends forecast it’s that we’re very mild! Heading out the door this morning temps were in the 50s and 60s. Highs this afternoon will be in the low 60s, but compared to the cold rain we dealt with last weekend, this is a little more comfortable.
Overall, it’s not the best weekend but Sunday the showers will be tapering off and giving way to a nice start to the work week. Plenty of sunshine to start off and staying mild for Monday before we drop down into the 40s for Tuesday.
