The chilly breeze is picking up out of the north today. While it won’t be as cold as last week, it will remind us that Spring hasn’t Sprung just yet.
A wind shift has dropped to the south, and northerly winds are running at 10-15mph. There may be a few gusts to 20mph near the shore. High pressure is edging in from the west.
We’ll have a lot of sunshine today, but the north breeze will keep temps down. Highs will be in the low 50s with some upper 40s near the shore and north of Hampton Roads. We may get to the mid 50s inland and south. Tonight we’ll have clear skies and lighter winds. Temperatures will drop down to the low 30s. Several locations will likely hit the freezing mark. So be sure to bring in the potted plants if you put them out recently.
Tomorrow we’ll have less wind, but still lots of sunshine. So high temps will rise to the upper 50s with a few 60s inland. We’ll have a decent southerly breeze on Thursday with partly cloudy skies. So I put the high temperatures up to near 70 degrees. I may be a tad optimistic on that much warming, but we’ll see. We’ll be in the mid 70s on Friday.
However, we’ll have lots of clouds, scattered rain showers, and at least a few isolated thunderstorms. This will be ahead of a cold front that will move in and drop temps over the weekend. Luckily, we’ll still be in the 60s on Saturday. But highs will only be near 50 on Sunday. At least the St. Patrick’s day parade looks dry. At least at this time. Check back for updates.
