I hope everyone had a fantastic Easter Sunday – it was absolutely beautiful today with lots of sunshine and highs in the 70s.
Don’t expect these temperatures as we kick off the work week. The clouds have moved in ahead of a cold front that will swing through tomorrow morning. With that frontal passage, temperatures will be about 15° cooler tomorrow.
Overnight, we’ll continue to track mostly cloudy skies. With the clouds, temperatures will stay mild – only dropping into the mid-50s by morning. As that front pushes into Hampton Roads, we may see a spot shower or two, so you may want to throw your umbrella in the car in case you need it.
Winds will switch out of the north, so highs will only be in the mid to upper-50s. Not a big jump in the numbers from morning to afternoon.
But hold that thought..
A warm front will lift into the region on Tuesday, which will allow some warmer air to surge in. I won’t rule out more spotty showers Monday night, but Tuesday looks dry with partly sunny skies. Highs will return to the low-70s, so enjoy that while it lasts….because it won’t.
On Wednesday, yet another cold front will cross the region, this time, bringing widespread rain to Hampton Roads. Due to the timing of this frontal boundary, we may be in a situation where it’s mild in the morning, then temperatures tumble through the afternoon. So that 68° you see on our 7-Day Forecast is a tad deceiving.
Highs drop back into the mid-50s on Thursday – about 8° below average. The roller coaster ride doesn’t stop there..it’ll continue into next weekend.
The bottom line – the mercury will be up and down..we’ll be in and out of showers..so be prepared for a little bit of everything over the next 7 days.
