“Baby It’s Cold Outside” At least for mid-April. Temperatures this morning started off 20-30 degrees colder than this time yesterday.
Temperatures were only in the 30s and 40s. Brrr. Colder weather is pouring in behind a cold front that now sits well to our south.
We’ll have a chilly north breeze through the day. High temperatures will only be in the mid-upper 50s despite ample sunshine. There will be a couple of 60s inland/south. The average high for this time of year is 69 degrees. Even though air temps are chilly, the soil temperatures have risen a little lately. So some flora are finally starting to sprout. However, that also means that grass pollen is increasing. The tree pollen has already been high.
Over the weekend we’ll be dry and cool. High temps will be in the upper 50s to low 60s tomorrow. We’ll be in the 60s on Sunday. The breeze won’t be too bad. We’ll warm up early next week well into the 60s. Then we’ll hit some 70s later in the week. Course we’ll have lots of rain coming in on Tuesday with scattered showers Wednesday/Thursday.
I caught a story on the internet about Chicago’s recent cold. The article talks about how they had the 2nd coldest start to April on record. Cold April Chicago.
Many baseball games in the country have been delayed due to snow and that includes the Cubs. However, while looking for the above mentioned article I found another from the same site that talked about how the Spring up there is actually far from the coldest. Here is that article from meteorologist Tom Skilling. Chicago Spring far from coldest.
