When you think of Florida, odds are, you think of sunshine, heat, humidity, and the occasional thunderstorm.  Well why go to Florida when we have that weather here in Hampton Roads..

It was quite soggy last week, but things are improving a little bit in our 7-Day Forecast.

You’ll notice there will only be a 2 in 10 chance of isolated showers from Monday through Thursday.  Bottom line – most of our days will be dry, but don’t be surprised if you’re out and you get tagged with a quick downpour in the afternoon.  Friday looked pretty dry on our forecast models, but I’m leaving a 10% chance in there because…..well, I don’t trust Mother Nature to not change her mind!

Shower threat aside, Monday will feature a mix of sun and clouds with highs in the upper-80s.  It’ll be a touch cooler near the coast due to a light onshore breeze, so not a bad day to hit the beach.

There will be a low risk of rip currents from the Oceanfront to Kitty Hawk, Nags Head, and Kill Devil Hills, but a expect a moderate risk near Hatteras.

Of course, if you’re going to be out, keep an eye on the radar for a pop-up thundershower.

Keep your umbrella in the car with you just in case you need it, but I would say your sunglasses will be needed a lot more.

Take care of yourselves Tuesday and Wednesday – those will be the hottest days of the week with temperatures topping out in the low-90s and heat indices near 100°.
