Feeding America projects that almost 350,000 of our neighbors will face hunger this year. That means 1 in 6 of our neighbors in Hampton Roads and 1 in 5 of our neighbors in northeast North Carolina are likely to struggle to provide enough food for themselves and their families. To help make sure no one in our area goes hungry, WAVY-TV 10 and FOX 43 are partnering up with our three area foodbanks for the ‘10 On Your Side Virtual Food Drive’. Money raised will support the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank, the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore and the Food Bank of the Albemarle in North Carolina.
Did you know that for every $10 donated, area foodbanks are able to distribute up to $60 worth of grocery products!
Let’s keep the local food pantries packed and let’s show our community how we can all come together during this unprecedented time.
Virginia Peninsula Foodbank
Families now more than ever need your help. More families are showing up to food banks than ever before, many for the first time in their lives. Please know that your gift helps put nutritious food on the table for individuals, children, seniors, families, and veterans facing difficult times. hrfoodbank.org/
Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore
The Foodbank of Southeastern Virignia and the Eastern Shore is here for our clients every day, and in this time of need we will continue to serve the most vulnerable in our community. Donations to the Foodbank will help provide much-needed, nutritious food to those in our community most at-risk of hunger–seniors, children, and low-income families. foodbankonline.org/
Food Bank of the Albermarle
Hunger is now a real fear for many who did not need the Food Bank before this health crisis. We need your help now more than ever to support this increasing daily need. For every $10 donation, the Food Bank of the Albemarle can provide approximately 40 meals. Your contribution will help the Food Bank to prepare emergency-food boxes to ease the burden of families that no longer have access to meals through schools, senior nutrition programs, and no work and lost wages.
