Water Country opens for the season with first hybrid water coaster ride

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (WAVY) — Water Country USA is opening for the summer on Friday with a big splash in store for its guests.

Their latest ride is the first of its kind in the state of Virginia. It’s a hybrid water coaster, named Cutback, with fast drops and high speeds.

According to Water Country’s website, Cutback Water Coaster utilizes a water jet propulsion system and a saucer feature to send a four-person raft down the 850-foot slide.

You have to be at least 42 inches tall to get on the ride and their thrill level rating for it is high.
