Old Dominion pulls past UTEP 72-53 to pick up sixth conference win

NORFOLK (WAVY_) – Malik Curry scored 18 points and had eight assists, Kalu Ezikpe scored 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds off the bench and Old Dominion beat UTEP 72-53.

Xavier Green scored 13 points and made three steals for the Monarchs (10-15, 6-6 Conference USA), who outrebounded the Miners 41-34 and had a 19-7 edge in second-chance points.

Aaron Carver scored 11 points, grabbed 14 rebounds and blocked two shots and Joseph Reece added 10 points.

Bryson Williams scored 16 points and had nine rebound for the Miners (13-12, 4-8), who have lost three straight. Daryl Edwards hit 4 of 8 3-pointers and scored 16 points and Jordan Lathon had 11 rebounds.

Old Dominion ended the first half on a 14-2 run.

Thursday, the Monarchs are at Rice.
