We are finishing the year with mild temps, and we’ll be starting the next year with very warm temperatures. Since I’ve been in this area, I remember several Christmases when I was in shorts. However, I can’t remember any New Year’s Days when I could wear shorts.
I’ve said it a lot this year — the weather has been out of whack since last February. We have had weather about 1-3 months out of phase with the regular calendar (and either forward or backward in time). So I would say that we had October weather in November, and December weather in October (at least for most of December). Here are the high temperatures for the month so far:
We will be mild today as a warm front moves in from the southeast.
High temps will rise to the upper 50s to low 60s this afternoon. We’ll have a few showers ahead of the front. This will be mainly during the midday and the early afternoon. Winds will be in out of the east/southeast at 5-10mph.
Temps will hold steady tonight in the upper 50s with lots of clouds and some isolated showers. So this will be the case when the ball drops tonight. Tomorrow we’ll start warm, and we’ll end very warm. High temps will be in the low 70s. We’ll have mostly cloudy skies in the morning.
Then we’ll clear out later in the day.
A cool front will move through, but temps won’t drop until the evening. Then we’ll be dry and cooler with highs near 50 on Wednesday. We’ll warm up again into next weekend. Stay tuned for details.
Happy New Year!
