For the week ahead we’ll have some cool temps for the first half of the week, but then we’ll warm things up a bit by the second half of the week. We are also starting off the week with a few rain showers. This morning we had a mix of sun and clouds with only a sprinkle near the central Eastern Shore.
However, clouds are increasing, and we’ll have some afternoon showers moving in. This is coming from a weak area of low pressure and a weak cool front that are creeping closer to Hampton Roads.
There is also a subtle upper level feature that is drifting into the region. We are still pretty dry at the surface, but we’ll increase the moisture a little bit today. This all spells out that we’ll have some hit or miss showers by the afternoon with even more rain showers by the evening.
These showers should all be pretty light. High temps will be in the low-mid 50s. Tomorrow the low will be out to sea, and the front will dip to our south. We’ll have lots of sunshine, but the breeze will pick up out of the north. So high temps will only be in the upper 40s to low 50s. We’ll be in the mid 50s on Wednesday with partly cloudy skies. Wednesday is the first day of Spring. We’ll warm up on Thursday with highs in the 60s. There may be a few showers. Then we’ll be dry and mild by next weekend.
