We dried out for a little while yesterday afternoon and last night, but we already have rain knocking on our door again! This morning we have a line of showers developing north of a stationary front. The band of showers was slowly creeping north through North Carolina towards the state line.
At the same time there is an area of low pressure over Alabama, and that is also moving closer to our region. As the day goes on, the rain will increase. It will be a soggy mess this afternoon into the evening. At least it won’t be too windy.
High temps will be in the low 50s with some upper 40s north. The rain will be pretty widespread this evening into the overnight as the low moves in. We may have some isolated thunderstorms to the south. There may be a spot or two of flooding, but overall I think the area will be OK.
We could see about a half inch to an inch of rain, but it should be spread out over time. A few locations could see an inch and a half.
The surface low will kick out tomorrow, but a small upper level low will hang back. So we’ll some isolated showers in the region with a mix of sun and clouds. High temps tomorrow will be in the low 60s.
High pressure will build in Saturday night into Sunday. We’ll have lots of sun on Sunday with highs near 60. Nice! We’ll be a little cooler on Monday, but it will still be sunny. Highs will be in the 50s. Then we’ll warm to the 60s on Tuesday, but a few showers will be possible.
Stay tuned for updates
