YORK COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) — An early morning fire caused significant damage to a York County house, officials say.
The York County Department of Fire and Life Safety said in a news release crews were called to the 1200 block of Wilkins Drive just before 5:30 a.m. Additional information received as crews were en route indicated the occupants were able to get out of the home.
The fire was brought under control shortly after crews arrived, officials said.
One person was treated at the scene before being taken to the hospital. Their injuries were not considered life-threatening.
Officials said York County crews were assisted by James City County, Williamsburg, Navy Region Fire-Rescue and Camp Peary.
