NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A 30-year-old woman was sentenced to 15 days in jail for assaulting a woman after a traffic accident in Norfolk.

Flisha Philpatts was charged with felony hit-and-run and malicious wounding on March 22, 2017 — four days after she assaulted a 39-year-old woman after they were in a traffic accident at the intersection of North Military Highway and Norview Avenue.

The woman told police that Philpatts was the passenger of the SUV that was involved in the two-car crash. She said Philpatts got out of the SUV and assaulted her before the driver fled the scene.

Philpatts pleaded guilty to felony unlawful wounding and hit and run on Sept. 7. She was sentenced to two years in jail with all but 15 days of that suspended.
