Woman rescued from Norfolk house fire

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Norfolk Firefighters rescued a woman from a fire at a home on Lois Lane Wednesday morning.

The fire started around 5:26 a.m. in the kitchen of a home in the 1400 block of Lois Lane in the Shadywood East neighborhood.

When crews arrived they found a woman trying to escape the fire through a window. Firefighters pulled the woman from the home and brought the fire under control.

Medics took the woman to a local hospital for treatment. She is expected to recover.

Fire officials have not said what started the fire.
