Woman killed in single-vehicle crash in Suffolk


SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A woman died in a crash Thursday afternoon in a rural area of Suffolk, officials say. 

Police have identified the woman as 47-year-old Kimberly Meiggs Shray.

City officials said in a news release the crash happened in the 3200 block of Archers Mill Road, off U.S. 460 (Pruden Boulevard), just after 12 p.m.

Officials said a preliminary investigation found her vehicle left the roadway and overturned.

Shray was driving the vehicle.

The roadway around the crash scene was closed until 4:15 p.m.
