Woman indicted on conspiracy charge in Norfolk teacher’s fatal shooting

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A grand jury has indicted a woman on a felony conspiracy charge in connection to the shooting death of a Norfolk elementary school teacher. 

Teniqu Cushman, of Virginia Beach, is accused of pressuring 70-year-old Edward Shaw to murder a third member of their alleged love triangle. 

Though when Shaw went to a home on Virginian Drive on New Year’s Eve to eliminate the rival, according to police, he accidentally shot Oceanair Elementary School teacher Caroline Hendrix instead.

Shaw, 70, of Utah, was recently indicted on first-degree murder and use of a firearm in commission of a felony charges.

His trial is scheduled for June 25, while Cushman’s is slated for June 20.
