VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A woman is dealing with serious injuries after she attempted to cross Indian River Road and was struck by a vehicle on Friday.
According to Virginia Beach Police, the incident happened shortly after 7 p.m.
Police say she was not using a cross walk while she was running across Indian River Rd.
The driver who hit her stayed on scene until police arrived, according to police. The woman was transported to a local hospital where she is expected to recover from her injuries.
It is unknown if the driver of the Jeep Cherokee that hit her will face any charges, as the crash is still under investigation.
