Woman gets nearly 3 years for possessing ricin in Va. Beach

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A South Carolina woman who pleaded guilty to possessing the poison ricin is now facing nearly three years in prison.

Debbie Siers-Hill was charged with having the deadly poison and a gun with an obliterated serial number in 2016 while she was living in Virginia Beach.

Court records show Siers-Hill was sentenced to 35 months — two years and 11 months — in prison. She is also faced with three years of supervised probation after her release, and must pay a $100 fine.
