Winning Powerball tickets worth $1M each sold in Poquoson, Franklin

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — There are two lucky winners in Virginia.

Two tickets bought for the Saturday Powerball drawing are now worth $1 million each.

Virgnia Lottery officials say the tickets were bought at the 7-Eleven on Wythe Creek Road in Poquoson and at the Cxxon on North College Drive in Franklin.

Officials say both tickets matched the first five numbers, but missed the Powerball number. The winning numbers were 12-42-51-53-62.

If you’re one of the lucky winners — you have about six months to claim your prize.

Meanwhile the jackpot for the Mega Millions keeps on climbing. Through Monday, the jackpot had reached a whopping $425 million ahead of a New Year’s Day drawing.

Although a massive prize, it pales in comparison to the $1.5 billion jackpot from earlier this year. The winning ticket, which was sold in South Carolina, still hasn’t been claimed.
