NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – The Water Lantern Festival has made its way back to Norfolk.
This event is more than watching pretty lights float across the water. It’s an experience.
Those who come out can write heartfelt messages on lanterns to their departed loved ones, make a wish, or write about a struggle they’re trying to overcome.
Organizers say the festival is meant to create an atmosphere of hope, unity, and love.
Families can also enjoy rock climbing, corn hole, yard pong, food and vendors.
Sit back and relax by the fire and listen to music while watching the water lanterns float into the sunset.
The Norfolk Water Lantern Festival is Saturday, May 11 at Ocean View Beach Park from 5 p.m.-10 p.m. Admission is $15 for kids and $50 for adults. Each ticket comes with a lantern, marker, and a surprise gift.
