Visitor caught trying to enter Virginia prison with drugs hidden under dentures

AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A person is facing several felonies after they were caught trying to smuggle nearly a dozen oxycodone tablets into Augusta Correctional Center.

The Department of Corrections said the 10 pills were found hidden under the visitor’s dentures.

The visitor, who was attempting to visit an incarcerated family member inside the facility, was charged with felony conspiracy to introduce drugs to a prison, attempted delivery of drugs to a prison and possession of a Schedule II drug with intent to distribute.

No other information was immediately provided by DOC.
