SALEM (WAVY) – Thanks to two consecutive dominant pitching performances, the Virginia Wesleyan softball team left Salem with their third straight ODAC Tournament championship Sunday evening.
Having won four straight elimination games to reach championship Sunday, the Marlins first turned to Hannah Hull. The reigning Division III National Pitcher of the Year kept Emmory & Henry off the board with seven scoreless innings, leading Wesleyan to a 1-0 game one win.
In the championship-deciding game two, freshman Carla Hall pitched a complete game no-hitter. Her offense delivered with six runs, and the Marlins were able to hoist the championship trophy for a third straight year.
