ACCOMACK, Va. (WAVY) — Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal crash on Will Fisher Road in Accomack County Sunday Morning.
Police were notified at 8:29 a.m. of a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Will Fisher Road and Saxis Road. Police say the drive of the 2003 Ford Explorer, 32-year-old Adam Godwin, was traveling west on Saxis Rd. when he crossed double lines and into oncoming traffic.
When he crossed the double lines, he drove into the path of a 2000 Mitsubishi box truck. Godwin hit the truck head on and caused the truck to be pushed into a ditch. The Explorer spun out in the road.
Police say Godwin was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and died on impact. The driver of the truck, 82-year-old Elize Jacobs, was not injured in the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
