VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A two-year-old boy who has been battling cancer was surprised with a brand new playset in his backyard Saturday afternoon.
Volunteers with TowneBank and Roc Solid Foundation constructed the playset at David Johnson’s home while he and his family were taken by limo to breakfast and to an activity of their choice.
The Johnson’s returned home at 12:30 p.m. for the playset to be revealed.
The project was part of Roc Solid’s Play It Forward initiative in which they build things like playsets for families dealing with pediatric cancer. The Roc Solid Foundation is based in Chesapeake.
