PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — A student is facing potential charges after school officials say pepper spray was used in a fight at Woodrow Wilson High School in Portsmouth.
An official with Portsmouth Public Schools said in a statement a fight at the high school on Thursday involved four students — all of whom have been disciplined.
According to the statement, an investigation has found one of the four students used pepper spray. It’s unclear what charges that student could potentially be facing.
Video shared with WAVY News 10 shows the moment the pepper spray was used. There were many students present at the time.
The school district said it is cooperating with the Portsmouth Police Department.
We need parents to partner with the school division and teach their children that weapons and look-alike weapons are not allowed on school grounds at any time. Students who violate these rules will face serious consequences.
