HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — Emergency repairs on a portion of an Interstate 64 overpass in Hampton will result in ramp and lane closures in the area of Armistead Avenue.

VDOT says two box beams will be replaced within the auxiliary ramp lane on the eastbound side of the I-64 bridge over Armistead near LaSalle Avenue.

As a result, the LaSalle Avenue on-ramp and auxiliary lane on I-64 East will be closed for the duration of the work — which is expected completed by Memorial Day.

Two other closures will be closed during the project.

All eastbound lanes on Armistead Avenue will be closed at the overpass from March 6 through April. Westbound lanes on Armistead will closed in that area will be closed for up to six weeks between April and May.
