VB man pleads guilty to role in grocery store robberies


VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A Virginia Beach man has pleaded guilty to his role in connection to a rash of grocery store robberies.

Federal prosectors say 21-year-old Keonte Yorkshire took part in several crimes, including armed robberies in Chesapeake and Virginia Beach in the fall of 2018. They say he served as a lookout. 

Nine people in total were arrested in connection to the robberies and indicted on federal charges. 

Yorkshire pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit armed robbery, armed robbery and possessing a firearm during a crime of violence

He faces a minimum sentence of 17 years and a maximum of life at his sentencing on May 6.
