Va. Beach seeks input on possible school start time changes

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Administrators are seeking input for a possible shift for school start times in Virginia Beach.

The city’s school district said in a news release parents, students, staff and community members can weigh-in on four schedule options in an online survey

School board members voted in November to approve a resolution to change school start times.

High schools start class at 7:20 a.m. right now. The issue of whether to implement a later start is scheduled to go to a vote in September.

If the measure is approved, the new start times would go into effect starting the next year.
