VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A Virginia Beach man who possessed thousands of images of child sexual abuse was sentenced Wednesday to eight years in prison.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office said 42-year-old Robert Michael Fall had been collecting images for at least a decade before he was arrested.

An investigation found Fall had at least two laptops, numerous DVDs, and a Dropbox account that contained illegal images and videos. He reportedly used fake email accounts to try and cover his digital tracks.

Prosecutors said evidence presented at the trial indicated that he had over 320 images and over 2,900 videos of child sexual abuse in his Dropbox account alone.

Virginia Beach police discovered Fall’s illegal conduct after a relative found images of child sexual abuse on a laptop in Fall’s bedroom. Fall was also sentenced to 20 years of supervised release.
