NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — The Ticonderoga-class guided missile cruiser USS Monterey will be open for public tours this Fourth of July in Norfolk.

Tour hours will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Ticonderoga-class warship, which is usually located at Pier 6 at Naval Station Norfolk, is currently moored behind Nauticus. It was one of three vessels from Naval Station Norfolk that launched missiles at Syria back in April in a coalition attack to destroy suspect chemical weapons facilities.

The Fourth of July Great American Picnic & Fireworks at Town Point Park will run from 5-10 p.m. The free event concludes with a fireworks display at 9:30 p.m.

Fox News Channel is also set to broadcast from the Monterey on Wednesday morning.
