NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — The U.S. Postal Service is proposing the reestablishment of the Milan Station Post Office nine months after the location was closed.
USPS says the new location would be close to the former site, which was located at 3800 Colley Avenue in Norfolk until February 23.
The relocation project would provide full continuity of service and would consist of finding a suitable alternate location, preparing the new location for use as a Post Office and then transitioning services to the new facility, according to USPS.
USPS says the Postal Service would continue retail services at the current Post Office until the new Post Office is up and running.
A public input meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 6 at 5 p.m. at 600 Church Street in Norfolk. Written comments will be accepted for 30 days following the meeting.
