YORK COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) – Two men are in custody after barricading themselves at G.I Joe’s on George Washington Memorial Highway early Sunday.

Officials say they received an emergency call just before 3 a.m. for an alarm that went off at the business. They arrived on scene a short time later and found the back door of the business open.

Officers learned that two men barricaded themselves inside the building. Virginia State Police were called to assist, but the suspects remained barricaded.

A suspicious vehicle was spotted just before 4 a.m at a building south of G.I Joe’s with a juvenile girl inside and she was taken into custody.

Around 4:25 a.m., the two men fled out of the back of the building and were taking into custody shortly after, police said. No injuries were reported.

The suspects arrested, Mark Hayes and Austin Hall, were charged with breaking and entering, damaging property, possession of burglary tools and conspiracy to commit breaking and entering.

Hayes and Hall were taken to Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail.
