Two pets killed in Virginia Beach mobile home fire

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – Fire broke at a mobile home near the Virginia Beach Oceanfront early Monday morning.

Crews were called to the 900 block of Virginia Beach Boulevard shortly before 1 a.m. to find a home with heavy fire. The fire was threatening to spread to two other structures, according to Virginia Beach fire officials.

The two adults displaced from the home were not injured, but two animals were found dead inside. The Red Cross is assisting the residents.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
