NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Norfolk police say they have arrested two juveniles in the death of a 15-year-old.
A homicide investigation was launched on Monday after Daemon Person was found dead inside a home on Corprew Avenue, near Norfolk State University.
Police originally investigated the case as an undetermined death after receiving a call at 3:11 p.m. NSU students were alerted about the homicide investigation via LiveSafe alert Monday evening.
One of the juveniles has been charged with second-degree murder and the second juvenile has been charged with accessory after the fact.
Person was a sophomore at Booker T. Washington High School at the time of his death.
Shirley Jones, a neighbor, told 10 On Your Side, “He had a sweet spirit. He was always coming home from Booker T.”

Norfolk Public Schools (NPS) again finds itself reeling from the tragic death of a student. There truly are no words to express the sorrow felt by everyone in the district as we processes the fact that the lives, families and loved ones of three young people have been forever changed. Our thoughts are with all who have been affected by this incident. Supports are in place to assist students and staff deal with the wide range of emotions that they may be experiencing. We continue to find comfort in the memories of those NPS family members who have left us far too soon.
