SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Two people were displaced late Tuesday night after their house in North Suffolk caught fire.

City of Suffolk officials said firefighters were called out to the 5900 block of Bennetts Creek Lane around 10:35 p.m. Heavy fire was seen on the house’s roof when the first units arrived six minutes later.

Two adults who lived in the house had safely escaped the flames by the time firefighters got on scene. Np injuries were reported.

Officials said crews from Carrolton, Chesapeake and Chuckatuck provided assistance in battling the flames. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

This was one of two fires Suffolk Fire & Rescue responded to Tuesday night. A house fire on Holland Road earlier in the night displaced a family of four.
