Tides fall to Gwinnett Stripers 3-1 in season opener

The 2018 baseball season officially opened up for the Norfolk Tides, who’s offense sputtered in a 3-1 opening night loss to the Gwinnett Braves.

In front of a packed house of 11,131 fans, the Tides allowed a score in the second inning and two more in the fifth.

For Gwinnett, Atlanta’s top pitching prospect, Mike Soroka, kept the Tides’ offense in check, allowing only three hits while striking out five.
